Let There Be Painted Trim

I was a little deflated today when I went to the house and didn't see any changes.  However, when I was on my way out, I noticed it.  The trim was painted!  I didn't realize the trim color was so close to the board they used.  I'll try to show the before and after.

     Master bath tile

I have not had time to perfect my use of this Win 8 version of blogger.  I apologize.  It's making me crazy.  I spend way too much time on it and it only gets worse!

I just want to move into our house and have time to do better.

I will be "glad" when all of this is done!

What a Difference a Week Makes

Wow!  Gone for a week and the house looks so much different!  The first and biggest change is the exterior.  Our house has been painted.  The trim is not done, but the body of the house is.

The house is blue.  Really BLUE!  This is about the only photo that shows the color correctly.  I like it, but I do hope the trim and the rock tone it down a bit.  Oh how I wish it were all done!

Next is the front walk and then the back porches.

This view is from on the porch toward the driveway.

These next three photos are the back deck/porch.

And these are the little porch by the man door and the tool room.

Now to the inside!  (Can you believe how light paint looks in these photos?)

A peek at the laundry room cabinets.  The dryer on the left, the washer on the right.

This cabinet is the laundry basket.  The middle opening will be a sliding drawer that will open to both the laundry room and the walk in closet.  We'll drop the dirty laundry in while in the closet and then you'll go to the laundry room and pull open the drawer to pick out the laundry to wash.  Once the clothes are clean and folded, they will be placed on the top shelves and can be put away in the walk in closet.  The opening on the bottom will be a storage drawer.

And this is the vinyl for the laundry room floor.

This is the hardwood in the house.  Most of it is covered right now in pink paper (and blue tape) to protect the surface until the construction is complete.

I love the tile for the master bathroom!  The cardboard and black tape cover the glass pieces.  The contractor was grouting when I left today.  I can hardly wait to see it done tomorrow.

This is tile that looks like wood.  It is in the Jack and Jill bathrooms.  The grout was completed today, but I couldn't get to it because the entry hall tile was placed and grouted today.

I really like the entry tile.  I love the herringbone pattern.

That's it for now.  I am anxiously waiting for the countertops!  The templates have been done and I expect them to be placed this week. At least, I hope.

The backsplash tile is on backorder.  It may have to be installed after we move in.  Argh.  Better late than never, I suppose.

Stay tuned!  Lots more to come.

Double the Goodness! I wasn't Prepared

Due to moving out and packing and cleaning, we hadn't been to the house in a couple days.  We went last night and OMGosh! it looks amazing

It looks like a park!

I was trying to add these to the end, but it went to the top.  These show the siding.

Yay!  Garage doors.  This one is on my side.

And this is on Scooter's side..

We hired "Frank" to do the excavating and build a wall in the back.  This is what he calls the rough stage.  Still needs to smooth and bring in top soil.  We think it looks awesome!

There are stairs to the right of middle, so I can go up to where someday there will be a greenhouse.  I like that it's terraced.

This is from the front looking at the East side.

The kitchen cabinets.  Not done by any means, but soooo pretty.  They are Shaker style and the wood is knotty Alder.  I love them.  Can't wait until they are all done.

This is part of the laundry room.  OK, yes, there is no drawer or anything in the bottom.  It will stay like that and the litter box will be under the utility sink to the right.  Then it will be hidden and the cat can still get to it.  Love it!

Master bathroom vanity.

These (above and below) are the Jack & Jill bathroom vanities.

AND last, but certainly not least, this is a new bookcase for my office/craft/photography room.  We had talked to the cabinet guy, Chad, about building one and little did I know, Scooter asked him to finish it for my birthday present.  It is so pretty & he has to put the trim on it.  I'm a pretty lucky girl.  There were supposed to be no presents because the house is all of our gifts for the year.  It looks awesome!

I'll be out of town for a week and can hardly wait to see what happens when I'm gone.

Home Tour

OMGosh!  Our house is really coming along.  I know I've been neglectful posting photos, but between packing and packing and packing, there hasn't been much time.  By the time I sit down, it's not long before the zzzz's start!  And I haven't gotten the Win 8 version of blogger perfected yet.

I'll start with photos from a couple days ago.  The following are mostly the garage.  Scooter inspecting his cool, HUGE garage/shop.  He had not been home for three weeks, so it was a big change.

This is looking at where my car goes.

Scooter didn't think the mud looked wet.  He was wrong.

Putting on the shoe that was sucked off of his foot!  lol

Looking from the back of the garage to the street.

More inspection.

Looking outside from the family room.

This is a couple days later.  They started to side the house!  All the windows and doors are trimmed.

(the pieces of sheetrock were NOT there when he stepped out)

These are our bedroom windows!

Seriously, there is siding on the front of the house.  Pretty bright out.  There will be rock around the bottom of the siding and around the posts.

You can see the siding a little better here.  I can hardly wait for the exterior paint!

The inside of the house is all textured and I think they start the interior paint today!!  Once the painting is done, up go the cabinets.  Oh, oh, oh!!!  I am so excited!

Hopefully, more photos tonight or tomorrow.  I think you'll be able to see the texture when it's painted.
